Meet the Darien. Our Adventure frameset that is now available in the RTP program
Darién - RTP
Born Where Roads Don’t Reach
Built for Colombia’s wildest terrain, the Darién is a hardtail designed for steep climbs, technical descents, and the kind of rides that blur the line between trail and exploration. This version, offered through our Ready to Paint program, delivers the same frame, the same tubing, and the same intent - just without the wait.
It’s a bike made for pushing boundaries. Agile, responsive, and steady when the conditions are anything but. Whether it’s jungle, páramo, or the unknown in between, the Darién is ready.

Materials
The Darién is built using the same blend of Columbus Zona and Life tubing as its custom counterpart. This selection is focused on strength, reliability, and control - qualities that matter most when riding remote trails and unpredictable terrain.
The use of round tubing provides a ride that feels grounded and responsive without being harsh. A 44 mm head tube adds front-end stiffness for confident handling on technical descents, while a T47 bottom bracket delivers durability and power transfer you can trust when climbing under load.
With clearance for 29 x 2.4 inch tires and paired with a modern mountain geometry, the Darién is ready to handle whatever the trail throws at it.

Craftsmanship
Every Darién frame is built with the same care and precision as our custom models. Same materials, same workshop, same hands. There is no separate line or simplified process, this is simply how we build.
From welding to alignment to finish, every detail reflects our belief that quality is not something we scale up or down. It stays constant. Because even in the most rugged environments, the bike beneath you should feel like nothing less than our best.

Suspension Compatibility
The Darién is built to fit 100 mm to 120 mm suspension forks, giving you the freedom to define the bike’s character. Go lighter and quicker with a 100 mm setup, or push deeper into rough terrain with 120 mm of travel - the geometry adapts without losing its balance or responsiveness.
This flexibility lets you build the Darién around your style of riding, not someone else’s idea of what a hardtail should be.
About the RTP Program
RTP stands for Ready to Paint, our streamlined program that brings Scarab performance and craftsmanship to more riders, faster. Built using the same materials, processes, and standards as our custom frames, RTP models come in a selection of stock geometries and preset paint schemes.
What changes is the path, not the product. Each RTP frame is crafted and painted in our El Retiro workshop, using the exact same tubing and care as our fully bespoke builds, just without the co-design phase.
- Framesets ship in 4 weeks
- Complete builds ship in 6 weeks
RTP is Scarab made more accessible, for those who want to ride sooner without giving up what matters.
