El Sifón Tour: Mastering the art of Climbing
There is something mystical about mountains—they challenge us, humble us, and ultimately change us. Nestled in the heart of Colombia lies El Sifón (also known as Old Letras), a climb that embodies the raw beauty and intensity of cycling in a truly unique way. Why? This climb is the world's longest paved climb. But those are just numbers and ride specs. The real magic lies in the ride itself: during this climb, you’ll traverse Colombia’s pisos térmicos—its distinct thermal floors—crossing vertically through the essence of an entire country.
Colombia is famous for its monster climbs, ever-changing weather, breathtaking scenery, and high-altitude roads. El Sifón encapsulates all of this. Expect this to be a true challenge—a climb that will test your strength and reward you with unmatched views and life-long memory.
Over the course of eight days, we’ll immerse ourselves in Colombia’s exuberant culture, diverse landscapes, and deep cycling heritage. The first part of our journey takes us to El Retiro, a charming town on the outskirts of Medellín that is also home to SCARAB Cycles. Here, we’ll share our favorite routes, reveal the best pastry and coffee stops, and guide you along the roads that inspire everything we do.
This trip offers a rare opportunity to connect with yourself, fellow riders, and the mystical cycling culture of Colombia. El Sifón awaits—are you ready to fall in love with a mountain?
