The experience behind both of my Scarab Bikes

The experience behind both of my Scarab Bikes

Creating the Scarab Bike was a journey that began with my deep-seated passion for cycling. With over two decades of experience in the industry, I’ve had the privilege of riding numerous high-end carbon bikes. Yet, I yearned for something more personal, a bike that was a true extension of my passion for the sport. This desire led me to Santiago in 2018, where I discovered the unmatched feel and comfort of a custom steel bike. It was amazing; steel offered the perfect blend of performance and efficiency without compromise.

My Colombian roots played a pivotal role in this venture. Witnessing the extraordinary craftsmanship and fervor for cycling at the local framebuilding facility was inspiring. The dedication to excellence is just everywhere, and it fills me with pride to represent a brand that showcases our vibrant culture and cycling heritage to the world.

The Scarab Bike stands out in performance and connection. Owning four steel bikes, I can attest that the APUNA and PARAMO models are exceptional. Their weight rivals, and sometimes even surpasses, that of some carbon bikes. The ride quality is superb, and the fit is so precise that it feels like an extension of oneself. Responsive yet stable, the bike glides over rough terrain, responding instantly to my commands. It’s a feeling so profound that I cannot envision returning to a carbon fiber frame.

As for the aesthetics, the APUNA’s paintwork holds a special place in my heart. It’s a fusion of my favorite hues, brought to life with ENVE integrated parts. The marbled effect is a testament to uniqueness, with the Pearl aqua blue shimmering in shades of blue and purple, while the gold and white accents create a stunning contrast within the marble canvas. It’s more than just a color scheme; it’s a statement of individuality and style.

Talking about my PARAMO’s paint job, when Scarab released their Escarabajos paint scheme for their fifth anniversary, I fell in love with it. It perfectly captures the essence of the Colombian cyclist, and as a Colombian myself, I knew I had to have one. So, I told the Scarab team that I wanted one, but with my bike shop's (Revolt Cyclery) logo and a color that inspired the deep Colombian jungle.
